perso is a social network where every member is a verified human. It uses government ID verification to keep out bots, fake accounts, and anonymous trolls, so conversations stay real.

Each member completes a one-time identity check with our verification provider, Didit. You scan a government photo ID and take a quick selfie for liveness. perso never sees your raw ID images.

Your ID document images and selfie are never stored by perso, and never touch our own servers. Verification runs inside Didit's secure environment, and the verification session is deleted there as soon as your check completes. Didit's retention for perso's account is set to 30 days, so any session not deleted immediately is deleted within 30 days. From the check, perso keeps a small set of details, including your verified name, a confirmation that you are over 18, a reference identifier, the verification method, the date of verification, and a one-way identifier derived from your document number, which we use to prevent the same document from opening more than one account, to support account recovery, and to refuse recovery of an account that has been banned.

Anyone can read their posts in the Public Square, so their work stays discoverable. But interacting anywhere on perso, replying, commenting, liking, reposting, or following, takes membership, and every member is ID-verified, so everyone who takes part is a real, ID-checked person, not an anonymous account or a bot. That sharply reduces bots, spam, trolls, and low-intent behavior.

It means we confirm you are a real person, so others know they are interacting with a real human.

It means we confirm that a company, brand, publisher, NGO, or institution is real and officially represented.

Because subscriptions keep the platform sustainable, ad-free, and less vulnerable to bots and abuse. There is an old saying about the internet: if you are not paying for the product, you are the product. On free platforms, your attention and your data are what is being sold to advertisers, and the app is designed to extract as much of both as it can. perso is paid so that this is not true here: you are the customer, not the product. The small membership fee is what lets us work for you instead of for advertisers. It funds a network of verified humans with no ads, no attention-farming, and no algorithm manipulating your feed to keep you scrolling, your feed stays in simple chronological order because we have no business reason to distort it. The fee also supports the identity verification that keeps bots and fake accounts out. In short: a few euros a month buys you a place where the incentives point at you, not at your data.

perso costs €4.99/month on Android and €5.99/month on Apple.

We believe in transparent pricing. Apple charges higher platform fees, so the price on Apple is slightly higher. We prefer to explain that clearly rather than hide it somewhere else. App-store commissions on digital subscriptions are commonly significant, often in the 15% to 30% range depending on the platform and program.

The difference is who can see your post. A Public Square post is visible to everyone, including people who are not on perso, so your work stays discoverable. A perso Square post is visible only to members, and every member is ID-verified. Interaction works the same in both: only members can reply, like, repost, or follow, which is why bots and anonymous accounts cannot take part anywhere on perso.
